Dear Esteemed Leaders of the WFDSA, National DSAs, and Global Direct Selling Stakeholders,
Africa is not merely the "last frontier" of direct selling and network marketing — it is the most dynamic canvas where our industry can grow roots that are authentic, sustainable, and inclusive. Yet, as any seasoned professional who has walked this land knows, Africa does not fully open its doors to those who fly in for a seminar and leave the next day. Here, credibility is earned not through titles alone, but through presence, respect, and a lived understanding of the culture.
This is why the creation of a WFDSA “African Ambassadors” — itinerant envoy dedicated exclusively to the continent — would be a game-changer. Such a figure would embody the bridge between global best practices and local realities. He should bring:
Cultural fluency — a deep knowledge of African values, customs, and communication codes where trust precedes business, and where a handshake still weighs more than a press release.
On-the-ground expertise — years of real professional immersion across diverse African markets, not theories written from afar.
Diplomatic capacity — the ability to engage with governments, regulators, and civil society at the highest levels, convincing with both facts and tact.
Human seniority — in Africa, “the elder” carries a respected voice, and senior experience, both professional and human, is a true asset for federating people.
Relationship capital — the kind of genuine network built through time, credibility, and the smile that reassures and unites.
Visible presence — Africans want to see, meet, and weigh the person before embracing the mission. A permanent, professional, and friendly face of the WFDSA in Africa would embody that trust.
Such an ambassador would not only federate local companies and entrepreneurs, but also shield the industry against misconceptions and misregulation, while opening wide the doors of opportunity to millions of Africans eager for empowerment through entrepreneurship, with total confidence and security.
Africa is ready. What it needs now is a voice, a face, and a trusted envoy of the WFDSA walking its roads.
I am ready.
