THE EVOLUTION OF SOPHISTICATED MLM TECHNIQUES

a. Automation and AI (Artificial Intelligence)

Automation systems now play a key role in modern MLM:

- Chatbots and virtual assistants: Capable of interacting with prospects 24/7, chatbots can answer initial questions, automate product presentations, and qualify prospects.

- Data analysis and predictive AI: Using machine learning algorithms, MLM companies can analyze user behavior to identify prospects most likely to convert, forecast market trends and personalize marketing campaigns in real time.

b. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools

CRM systems have evolved to enable retailers to manage and track relationships with their customers, prospects and teams more effectively. Sophisticated CRM platforms provide statistics on sales network performance, team productivity, and which market segments to target.

c. Use of social networks and targeted advertising

Social selling has become an essential part of MLM. Social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok enable distributors to:

- Build their personal brand.

- Generate content that attracts leads organically.

- Use targeted advertising tools to reach a specific audience, increasing conversion rates. Influencers also play a key role in MLM, partnering to sell products to their audience.

d. Webinars and virtual presentations

Traditional MLM based on physical meetings has migrated to online presentations, facilitating the growth of international networks without the need for travel. Platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet or Teams enable large-scale training and instant presentations.

THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TECHNIQUES ON MLM HUMAN RELATIONS

The use of technology has reshaped human interaction in MLM, sometimes to the detriment of the depth of personal relationships.

a. Disintermediation of human relationships

Technological sophistication has enabled faster and wider communication. However, I believe that this is leading to a disintermediation of human relationships, with interactions taking place more and more via machines or automata (chatbots, CRM), thus diluting the direct, “human-to-human” connection that is essential in creating trusting relationships. And we all know that it's from relationships based on trust that lasting relationships are born.

b. Algorithmic personalization vs. human authenticity

AI and CRM tools certainly enable large-scale personalization, but this personalization remains algorithmic and sometimes dehumanized. While these tools may seem to offer tailor-made interactions, they make it harder to establish authenticity and real trust, which are key elements in the success of a long-term business relationship. I know from experience that this is not a “musty” opinion.

c. Reduced intimacy in transactions

Social networks make it possible to reach millions of prospects, but they often lack the intimacy and closeness that traditional MLM salespeople used to have with their customers or team. Technology can clearly facilitate communication, but it's no substitute for the face-to-face interaction and emotional engagement often needed to build customer loyalty.

FUTURE SOPHISTICATED MLM TECHNIQUES

a. Virtual and augmented reality

Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies are gradually being integrated into MLM sales strategies. Immersive experiences will enable customers to virtually test products (such as make-up or clothing) before purchasing them. These technologies will reinforce customer engagement without requiring physical interaction.

b. Blockchain and traceability

Blockchain could become an important tool for MLM, ensuring product traceability, transaction transparency, and better commission management for distributors. This would reinforce trust in MLM systems often criticized for their lack of transparency.

c. Integrating gamification

Integrating gamification into the sales process could motivate distributors and customers by turning sales challenges into games, with rewards and rankings, thereby increasing engagement and loyalty.

LET US DRAW HUMAN, PHILOSOPHICAL AND COMMERCIAL LESSONS FROM THE ABOVE

a. Philosophy and humanity in MLM

Digitization, while bringing advantages in terms of efficiency and network expansion, raises the question of the value of human relationships in a world where technology occupies an increasingly important place. Human-to-human interactions are at the heart of ethical and authentic transactions. The move towards sophisticated digital tools must therefore preserve this human dimension, in my opinion, as trust and empathy are undoubtedly key elements of long-term success.

b. Sales: efficiency or humanity?

From a commercial point of view, technology obviously brings increased efficiency in prospect management, sales and team training. However, one of the challenges will be to strike a balance between the use of these tools and the need to maintain deep human interactions, which cannot be entirely replaced by algorithms.

I'm convinced that the future success of MLM will depend on the ability to merge the digital and the human.

c. The future of MLM: towards hybridization

The future of MLM is likely to be a hybrid, combining the best of digital tools with increased attention to the human relational dimension. Successful organizations will be those that know how to use technology to enhance, rather than replace, human interaction, while keeping authenticity at the heart of their practices.

In conclusion, MLM is at a turning point: technology enables new levels of performance, but long-term success will require preserving the human essence of business relationships.
